Canada Foundation for Nepal (CFFN) held its eighth Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at the Ottawa Citizen Hall Conference Centre with the moderation of Bishwa Regmi, Executive Secretary.
The program was commenced with the welcome speech of Govinda Dahal, Executive Director. After this, the agenda was presented, discussed and approved.
The Executive Director presented the annual report highlighting key accomplishments of CFFN. They include research opportunities and activities for sustainable livelihood in Nepal, community child education program, knowledge translation initiatives (e.g. book project on sustainable livelihood system in rural Nepal; assessment of Gold-Medal Mountain-Guiding in Nepal; research collaboration with University of Ottawa – Faculty of Medicine and Department of Communication.
Prashanta Dhakal, Deputy Director, presented financial and auditor report of 2012/13.
Then, Martina Casey, CFFN executive member and Director of the Community Child Care Centre (4C), highlighted the progress on 4C program and fund raising activities.
Ishara Mahat, Executive member and Director of Research, updated about the book project. Likewise, Ben Wood, Executive member and Director of USHA shared his experience and insights for the possible opportunities of charitable activities.
CFFN prominent members Shiva Ghimire and Kalidas Subedi shared their observations on the roles of CFFN in promoting education and well-being.
A three member electoral commission, comprising of Kalidas Subedi, Pradip Sharma and Shiva Ghimire, officiated elections with the following outcomes:

The Deputy Director gave vote of thanks to everyone who attended the AGM and the Executive Director concluded the AGM.
